Man this guy Shump is wildington with the new iPhone. Hope he’s ready to go next season we need him at 100%. #Knicks
This casual convo from last Sunday’s Rap Is Outta Control has taken on a life of it’s own since it hit the net. DJ Eclipse was out & Preem was filling in with me, our loyal listener/caller Greg from upstate ALWAYS has an intriguing question or two & the rest as they say is history.
I caught the tour when it stopped out in Long Island & let me state on record Kevin Hart is THEE funniest black comedian on the scene right now. Make sure you catch the film when it drops September 9th. “Alright, alright, alriiiiight”
Sunday Eclipse & Torae had Kool Keith & Jesse West (3rd Eye) up at the show. Keith was as entertaining as you would expect him to be. Shout out to Scaramanga (Sir Menelik) for calling up as well. Aside from that, lot’s of new music as usual. Playlist & links after the jump.
All my grown folks might remember Bob Slade’s week in review on Kiss FM. Here’s one from 1989 with Slick Rick The Ruler. He was on the air wildin’. Back to the drawing board, ya wimps! Hahaha classic ish.
Yeah this joint is gonna make 12 bagillion dollars. I got $12 on it. Memorial Day weekend….
The good brothers at Rap Relapse asked my opinion on who was better LeBron or Carmelo. Check out what I had to say up top.
With the readdition of the homie Jared Jeffries to the Knicks roster I thought it’d only be right to have him in this edition of Face Off. During his first stint here I always thought he looked like Alicia’s new boo, now let’s see what you think. I like son’s game though, he plays hard and he doesn’t have to be a scorer on this Knicks team so I think he’ll be a good fit this time around. #NYKnicks
I didn’t get to see this live as I had to head to Sirius during the halftime show I gotta admit it wasn’t that bad. We all know Rihanna isn’t the best singer or dancer but she manages to rock this performance. She really gets sexier & sexier with each new project & make-over. Applaud her stylist for taking her career to the next level & Terius for giving her a smash hit!. During the “What’s My Name” performance the flirtation between her & Aubrey is blatantly obvious, leading me to believe he tagged at least once. Thank the Lawd for hip-hop my Canadian friend. Kanye’s outfit was uhhhh…..Kanye’s outfit. Nothing that guy wears shocks me anymore, but I am a little curious about the actual material his pants were made from?? *Blank Stare* Overall that was a dope halftime show waaaaaay better than the Superbowl’s. And I gotta say I’m very happy about how
hip-hop rap R&B urban music was represented during the weekend in general. Cali Swag District, Keri Hilson, Melanie Fiona and more. Hats off to David Stern for green lighting those performers & giving them an opportunity to shine on such a grand stage.
Here’s the on air interview I did with The Ear Peace (Natalio Tabaco & Linda Lights) last week at PNC Radio, shouts to SupaLaura, the homie A King and Damien Lemon. Funny, funny stuff. The Ear Peace airs Every Thursdays on pncradio.fm More videos on vimeo.com/supalaura. Hit the jump for my one on one with Laura that same night.
I’ve had a personal vendetta against Dondre Whitfield ever since he married AND seeded up Sally Richardson, but the good brother Strick pointed out what was too funny to deny & so Mr. Whitfield you will receive one & only one post on my blog. With that said I present to yall Face Off Dondre v. J Cole
Every once in a awhile I come across a picture of someone that looks just like a picture of someone else. When that happens I like to share. Thus creating “Face Off”. This week I saw this Royce interview online & his look was distinctly familiar. Wonder if he had the glove too. Hit the jump for a couple more A-Alikes.
So with the release of any new project comes radio & press. Salute to every journalist & radio jock that gives a good got damn to sit & speak with me and a bigger shout to everyone that sits down to read or listen to a Torae interview. With that said the homie Amanda Bassa wrote a dope 2 part piece on me entitled “Bar Enlightenment” for The Well Versed where she chose a few lines of mine & I did the knowledge on ’em. I also chopped it up with the homie 730 from HipHopGame for a nice little write up that started off speaking about Heart Failure but ended up talking about 6 grader classroom outbursts, social networks & the documentation of blow jobs, hahaha very interesting read indeed. For shits & giggles I’ll throw in the audio of my time with the legendary Tony Touch on his Toca Tuesdays show on Shade 45. I went for about 20 good bars….definitely decent.
(Interview footage coming soon)
Yo, as a kid I must have seen Pee Wee’s Big Adventure 50 thousand times. I know that entire movie & the score. Finally after years of persecution he’s getting another shot in the limelight. I mean they condemned a grown man for charming the trouser snake in a XXX theatre, while the Kennedy’s, catholic priests & R. Kelly roam these streets freely!!! “The Law!!”
This mugshot was funny as hell tho’
